School Update Letter
January 15, 2019
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As many of you are aware, Baker College announced last week that it was in the process of consolidating some of its campuses. Baker College of Flint will remain open through August of 2020. After August of 2020, Baker College of Flint is consolidating with Baker College of Owosso and will be housed in Owosso. With this announcement, we have gotten several inquiries regarding what this means for our program. I want to assure each of you that Carman-Ainsworth Baker Career Academy will remain open for the remainder of the school year and you can expect the same quality of instruction, student support services, and college offerings you are used to. Additionally, I can also confirm that Carman-Ainsworth Baker Career Academy will remain open for the 2019-2020 school year. Baker College will continue to operate on campus during this time and students will still be able to dual enroll in college classes.
If your student is an 11th or 12th grade student that has enrolled in the early college option, Carman-Ainsworth and Baker College will be honoring those programs of study for your students. The decision to consolidate Baker campuses was a recent decision and there is still plenty of time before Baker College leaves the Flint campus. In that time, there will be more decisions made about the future of the campus and our program. I can assure you that your students will continue to earn eight credits per year, enjoy a smaller school environment, and be eligible for several college options. We can promise that we will continue to look after the best interests of your student. Thank you for the continued support. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me at (810) 766-2236.
