Assessments

The Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools, in conjunction with the Office of Research and Assessment, is committed to assuring academic progress for every student. In addition to Carman-Ainsworth data and assessments provided, parents have access to a wide array of information, including the MI School Data website, Michigan's official site, designed to provide comprehensive education data to improve instruction.

The MME, or Michigan Merit Exam, per the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), assesses students in grade 11 and eligible students in grade 12 based on Michigan high school standards. It is administered each March, and consists of three components:

  • ACT Plus Writing® college entrance examination
  • WorkKeys® job skills assessments in reading, mathematics, and "locating information"
  • Michigan-developed assessments in mathematics, science, and social studies."
