For those who are not already aware, I have replaced Mrs. Cathy McGilvery as our new Superintendent of Schools. Mrs. McGilvery was a tremendous leader and an even better person and friend; we wish her the absolute best! Having worked closely with Mrs. McGilvery over the last 25 years, first as a teacher, then Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning, and more recently as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, I am confident that we will continue towards the same vision for Carman-Ainsworth and the students we serve: A Collaborative Community Working Together to Guarantee Learning for Every Student. I am truly honored and excited to welcome you all back for the 2024-2025 school year. As someone who walked the same hallways and sat in the same classrooms from kindergarten to graduation, it is an honor to continue in our wonderful district in this capacity.
Our district holds a special place in my heart. The education I received here, along with the guidance and encouragement from our dedicated teachers and staff, laid the foundation for my personal and professional journey. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much. This year, we embark on a new chapter together, filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and achievement. Our focus will remain steadfast on providing an inclusive, supportive, caring, and safe environment, with high expectations for every student. We will continue to prioritize academic excellence while also fostering the social and emotional well-being of our students.
I am proud to be your new Superintendent of Schools and look forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at 810-591-3205 or at gryan@carmanainsworth.org.
Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
Sincerely,
Gina Ryan, Superintendent of Schools
