• Welcome

    Greetings Carman-Ainsworth Middle School Families,

The first day of school for students has been set for Tuesday, September 8th. Carman-Ainsworth school district has decided to begin the school year virtually for the 2020 – 2021 school year. The hope is that at some point during the year Covid-19 will prove manageable enough to return to school utilizing a hybrid model under strict safety precautions. This transition could come in as little as a few weeks or (worst case scenario) not at all for the 2020 – 2021 school year. It will all depend on data.

To assist you and your student in preparing for learning this school year I am providing you some preliminary expectations for learning for students and some (hopefully) helpful direction. As a student you are expected to adhere to the following virtual learning expectations:

    • Students are to work every class period/everyday
      • Teachers will be providing Zoom meetings
      • Teachers will be providing classwork via Google Classroom
      • Teachers will be available during your assigned class period for assistance
    • Students are expected to submit work by/on the due date assigned by teacher
    • Students will follow a set bell schedule from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM
      • Students not present during appropriate class periods may be marked absent
    • Assist in 2-way communication with teacher
      • Students are expected to communicate with their teacher(s) daily
        • Zoom/REMIND/Text Message/Email/Google Classroom/etc.
      • Follow appropriate dress code
        • If you are in a Zoom meeting student code of conduct (handbook) dress code must be followed
      • Follow CAMS code of conduct
        • All Carman Ainsworth Middle School code of conduct is expected to be followed
        • Failure to do so will result in appropriate consequences

School is not optional as it was in the spring. Students will be held accountable for these expectations through grading procedures, attendance procedures, and student code of conduct procedures.

We will NOT be “watering down” the curriculum. The expectation is that we start the school year virtually just as we would start it face to face in regards to instruction. Take some time to familiarize yourself with your teachers and the ROCKS expectations.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR TEACHER’S GOOGLE CLASSROOM:
