Great Start Readiness Program
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is funded through a state grant and is free to qualifying Carman-Ainsworth children who are four years old. Children qualify for the program on the basis of eight state-identified factors and/or income guidelines. A Great Start Readiness Program uses classrooms at The Learning Community. The program uses the High Scope curriculum approach to classroom scheduling and activities.
Regular student attendance is an important factor of the program, as is parent involvement. Parents are required to volunteer in the classroom once a month and be available for home visits and parent-teacher conferences. The program is currently funded for sixteen students.
