Get ready! Dye Elementary is joining a Genesee County fitness challenge starting March 1st!
To encourage the increased practice of daily physical activity with a special focus on school-aged children, the Genesee Intermediate School District and Commit to fit collaborated to create the Active Schools Challenge. The challenge focuses on daily tracking of minutes of physical activity and emphasizes that all forms of physical activity count. The challenge goal will encourage students at participating schools to achieve an average of 30 minutes of physical activity per day. Physical activity can occur both in and out of school throughout the challenge timeframe (March 1-25, 2022).
Our students at Dye Elementary will be receiving a weekly log in their classes to bring home to fill out and return every week. There will be extra logs at school, on the Dye web page, and on Ms. Masi’s google classroom. The goal is to write in the log four weeks of exercising for 30 minutes or more a day and turn in!
Here are some activities you might do at home to add to your log:
Walking, Jumping jacks, Burpees, Gymnastics practice, Martial Arts practice, Basketball practice, Dance lessons, Running, Skiing, Skating, Chores (sweeping, snow shoveling, moping, vacuuming), Just Dance, Yoga, Trampolining, Wii games, Activities from the DEAM Calendar on Ms. Masi’s Google Classroom, Water Park, Soccer practice, Tag, Play on Dye’s playground, PE with Joe, Bike, Hopscotch, Scootering, Play Catch, Play Sevens, Jump Rope, Walk your dog, Swim, Dance, or any of the games from Ms. Masi’s google classroom!
BULLDOGS! WE CAN WIN THIS! EVERYONE EXERCISE AT LEAST 30 MINUTES A DAY!
