To receive an Honorable Mention from the Genesee County Health Department, your establishment must be nominated during their annual Excellence in Food Service Sanitation Awards. [1]

These recognitions are determined directly by environmental health inspectors based on how well an establishment adheres to the Michigan Food Code during their regular, routine inspections. Inspectors nominate the cleanest and most compliant facilities in their assigned areas, and top leadership narrows down the final recipients and honorable mentions. [1, 2]
