Larry Hulburt

A 1967 Ainsworth High School graduate, Larry was Big Nine wrestling champion at 103 pounds; the first district wrestler to place in the state meet, finishing fourth in 1966. A three year star at Central Michigan University, he placed third in the NCAA College Division tourney at 142 pounds earning All-American Honors. He was Co-MVP and Co-Captain at CMU for two years, a U.S. Olypmic Trials Qualifier in 1968 and 1972. In 1973 Larry placed third in the U.S. National AAU Greco-Roman Championships. In 1985, he was AAU National Freestyle Masters Division Champion. Returning to CA to coach, he founded the Youth Wrestling Program, then coached all levels, mentoring Craig Sheerin, Bill Green, Zamoir Pittman, and Mike DeLorge, all Hall of Fame wrestlers.
