Our “Walking Field Trip” is this Friday.  We will leave the building at 3:05 sharp.  If you need another permission slip, please let me know.  Last year, we saw real live turkeys. Who knew???

Book orders are due this Friday.  My online code at is DYDYQ. (The $1.00 books are listed at the bottom.  They will make a great addition to your child’s library.)

I am looking for two parents or grandparents to make popcorn for our school. This is our class fund-raiser.  Our PTO allows each class to work a popcorn day.  In exchange, the PTO gives the class $50 to buy some of the extra stuff for our classroom.  Volunteers should plan on arriving at 8:30 and be finished by 11:30ish. (If I have one parent, the class receives $25, two parents $50.)  Perhaps you can help for part of the time. You know what they say, many hands make the work light.  Our class popcorn day is Friday, December 13. Please let me know if you can help.

Math: We continue to discuss symmetry.  We are writing our numbers from 0-15.  We are counting by 2s to 30, 5s & 10s to 100.  We are counting to 100+.  We are adding and subtracting through 5. We are sorting by attributes.  Please help your child become successful in all these areas.  We continue to learn about 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. Language Arts: We continue to work on letter formation and sound production.  The children are recording their thoughts during writer’s workshop.  Reading groups are established.  It is my goal to read with everyone individually at least once a week.  Science: Our Five Senses.  This week’s vocabulary words are “whirl, scrambled, proud, determined, materials, nature, decoration, games and world.”

Mystery Sack Show and Tell is tomorrow.  Please find something that starts with the letter T.  The children are getting better at saying their clues and guessing.  Please practice TWO clues.

If you need an appointment to talk with me, please know that I am available at 8:30-8:50am before the children arrive and after school most days.  Please call me to set up an appointment.

The class will have Music class for the next two weeks.
