Early Literacy Intervention (E.L.I.) is a reading and writing program that was written by the Title I Facilitators in Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. This program is designed for first and second grade students who need extra attention in literacy, and it operates at all of the elementary buildings in our district.

In a typical E.L.I. lesson, the student meets individually with a trained paraprofessional for fifteen-twenty minutes four days a week. The lessons immerse the student in reading and writing. A student's program is not limited and may continue throughout first and second grade if it is needed.
