Are you interested in learning a foreign language, like French or Spanish? Or earning high school credit in 8th grade? On January 14th and February 11th, 2014 the CAMS World Language Department will host a World Language Night to celebrate learning languages and the diverse cultures around the world. In addition to discussing the benefits to learning languages, we will also talk about the new graduation requirements for World Languages and the options for students here at CAMS. Currently, students can take French or Spanish in 8th grade for one of the two World Language credits that they need to graduate from high school. They can then take their second credit during high school or continue their language study throughout all four years and receive college credit by the end of their high school career. At World Language Night, families will be able to talk with a panel of current 8th grade students in Spanish, view textbooks and other instructional materials, and browse displays of cultural items from various Spanish and French-speaking countries. In the future, we are planning to establish a World Cultures Club here at CAMS and other activities to celebrate learning languages and cultures. We hope to see you at one of our World Language Nights. If you have any questions about the new World Language graduation requirements or our programs or classes here at Carman-Ainsworth please feel free to contact Ms. Robinson at (810) 591-6260 or by email at email@example.com
